7th Research Congress on Waste and Resource Management at RWTH Aachen University
The annual Research Congress on Waste and Resource Management, initiated by the German Society for Waste Management, in short DGAW, unites young scientists, senior researchers and business representatives and provides a forum for discussion. Current results in the field of waste management and recycling are presented to an expert audience.
On March 16 to 17, the 7th Research Congress on Waste and Resource Management took place at RWTH Aachen University. This year’s congress was hosted by professors Dr.-Ing. Peter Quicker and Dr.-Ing. Thomas Pretz. About 100 participants attended.
Each year, a jury decides on the best talk and poster and awards a prize on Waste and Resource Management for each category. Furthermore, scholarships are awarded for research projects particularly deserving of support.
This year among others, Marco Limburg, PhD student at the Unit of Technology of Fuels at RWTH Aachen University, was honored for his talk on “The Status of Thermal Recycling of Carbon Fiber-reinforced Plastics”. Jan Stockschläder received a scholarship for his research project on carbon fiber-reinforced plastics. At the Unit of Technology of Fuels he evaluates chances and limits of fiber recovery and further processing.
